RonaldoCR7 played will but Real Madrid could not win major silverware in last season 2012-13. The reports of division in the dressing room had prompted speculation that Ronaldocr7 whose contract runs until June 2015 might be seeking to move away Spanish Capital. He was replaced by Jese in 52nd minute against Almeria after suffering muscle strain on Nov. 23rd, 2013.  Ronaldocr7 made his return in a 2-0 away win over Copenhagen in the Champion League on 10 December. CR7’s final match of the calendar year saw him score a header in a 3-2 away win against Valencia. Ronaldo became Real Madrid’s fourth top scorer in the League with 164 league goals.

CR7 scored a brace in a 3-0 home victory over Celta Vigo, in the winter break 2013-14 at Real Madrid. He also scored his 400th professional career goal in 653 for club and country. Ronaldo dedicated his two goals to Eusebio who had died two days before. He won the FIFA Ballon d’Or 2013 on 13 January, 2014 by beating Lionel Messi. Ronaldo also became the third player to win the award after playing at least a full calendar year at Real Madrid. He had also been a runner-up on other four occasions of 2007, 2009, 2011 and the 2012. Through his achievement, he was regarded as one of the greatest player in football history.

Ronaldo scored the only goal of the match against Malaga on 15 March 2014. By scoring the goal, he became the first player to score 25 goals in five consecutive league seasons. He surpass his personal record of 12 goals in a single UEFA champion League season, by scoring two goals against Schalke 04 in the second leg of the Champion Leagues’ round –of- 16 on 18 March 2014.

In his 100th Champions League match against Borussian Dortmund, Ronaldo scored his record equaling 14th Champions league goal of the season on 2 April 2014. With scoring goal, he also became the first player to score in 8 consecutive Champions League matches. He was substituted with 10 minutes to play due to thigh injury. He missed four matches. CR7 made his return on 23 April 2014 in Champions League semi final where he scored a brace in the next match against Osasuna. He set a new record by becoming the first player to score 16 goals Champion League/European Cup season.

He scored a last-minute backheeled volley in the 2-2 home draw, to bring his goals total to fifty for the 4th consecutive season. CR7 holds the distinction of being the first player to win the LFP Best goal for this goal, in 2014. Ronaldocr7 became the first player in history to score in two European Cup Final for two different winning teams, in the Champions League final against cross-town rival Atletico Madrid.

He was the competition’s top goal scorer for the second consecutive season and third overall with a recod 17 goals in a single season. Ronaldocr7 was named the greatest goal scorer to play in the UEFA Champions League. Cristiano Ronaldo finished the season with 31 goals in 30 league games.
