Cristiano Ronaldo career at Manchester United in the season 2007-08, began with a red card. It was due to a head butt on Portsmouth player Richard Hughes during United second match of the season. For which he was punished with a three match ban. CR7 said that he had learned a lot from that experience and he would not let footballers provoke him in the future. He scored his first goal of the season in the first game of the 2007-08 UEFA Champions’ League group stage. On 19 September, Ronaldo scored a 62nd-minute header on his return to former club Sporting CP in a1-0 victory. On Oct. 23, Ronaldo scored two goals against Dynamo Kyiv in a 4-0 win. His fifth goal of the competition came in the final minute of the game of the return fixture against Sporting CP.

Ronaldo’s first league goal did not come until 29 September due to the three match suspension. Ronaldo scored the only goal of the game in a victory over Birmingham City. CR7 had thirteen goals by Christmas including doubles against Wigan Athletic. It put Manchester United top of the league. Cristiano Ronaldo finished as the runner up to Kaka for 2007 Ballon d’Or. In the quarter final of Champion League, Ronaldo played as a striker and scored against Roma with header. He also missed a penalty in the semi final first leg against Barcelona. Via a Paul Scholes goal, Manchester United eventually advanced to the 2007-08 Champions League’s final. CR7 scored the opening goal after 26 minutes in the final match which took place on May 21 against League Rivals Chelsea. It was negated by a Chelsea equalizer in the 45th minute. The match ended 1-1 after extra time. CR7’s penalty was saved in the shoot-out which created a situation for Chelsea to win the trophy. John Terry (Chelsea Captain) shot wide right after slipping of the pitch which resulted in the victory of Manchester United. CR7 was named the UEFA Fans’ man of the match. Ronaldo was awarded with Premier League Player of the Season and Premier League Golden boot after scoring 31 league goals. He again won the FWA Footballer of the years and PFA Players’ Player of the Year awards. He has received the honor to be named The player of the Year for three successive years. It was the last season of Ronaldo at United. No doubt, Crisitiano Ronaldo Career at Manchester United was a golden career.

CR7 finished the season with a career – high 42 goals in all competitions. He was named player of the tournament and best forward. CR7’s 31st goal haul was rewarded with his becoming the first winger to win the European Golden Shoe in 2007-08 season.
